Our Purpose & Vision The Gathering at Zoë is a ministry built on the word of God. At TGZ we do not judge you based on what you wear, your sexual orientation, or even your past mistakes. We love and welcome people from all walks of Life. TGZ is a ministry founded on building the Character of the people of God. Our Vision is to have a spirit filled, spirit led church full of people who have a passion for God and a thirst for more of who he is. TGZ is led by Pastor James A. Berry, affectionately known as "Pastor B". Pastor B is a twenty-nine year old Fayetteville native who has a passion for the word of God as well as the success of his people. “I firmly believe that God wants to challenge the hearts of his people so that they can take on a heart that is soft toward him. Once our hearts are changed we are more receptive to God and his will. We are then more likely to allow him to come in and have full control of our lives. If our hearts are changed, then our intellect will change, and when our thinking changes; our life changes. This means Satan won't have preeminence and the holy spirit can reign just as God intended”-Pastor Berry.
What makes TGZ different from any other church? Our goal is to establish a church that meets your needs spiritually and naturally. For example, in your city, the most popular restaurant is the one where there is great food and people feel free to be themselves while connecting with others. We believe that the Kingdom of God is the exact same way. You get good food(word) and at the same time you actually look forward to the fellowship you find within the connection of your church. TGZ is a community of people from all walks of life, who come together to celebrate the awesome God we serve. We do this by providing you with relevant word as well as great family related/life enrichment activities. These initiatives were created to better our TGZ family at home and beyond.
How does TGZ teach people about God? At TGZ our ministry operates on what Pastor B calls the Three T's. Every time you experience TGZ you can expect to to be Taught, Trained, and Transformed. TGZ's secondary function in ministry is that of our "Vision Paths". The two Vision paths we function under are called the STS(Save-Teach-Send) for our seasoned Christians and SBS(Save-Baptize-Send) for our newer Christians. The STS system is a system created to help us better understand our reason for being here on the Earth. We know and understand that God's ultimate goal is for us to bring people closer to him however; on this path you are taught how to do so. Our SBS ministry enables us to educate the "babes" in Christ on who the Trinity is, what each of them represent, and why it's so vital to a believer's walk to serve and operate in them. These two systems are the base of the flow of TGZ. Through the great work of our vision paths, the members of TGZ are not only educated spiritually but, they are also empowered to go out and effectively educate others about the things of God.
Our Beliefs: We believe that Jesus, the son of God, was sent to Earth to save us from our sins. He died and rose again in three days. We believe that though he was dead naturally for three days, he went down to hell and conquered it spiritually. We believe that Jesus now sits at the right hand of God our father interceding for us. We believe that Jesus left the holy ghost to be a helpmate to us here on the earth. We believe in the power of the holy ghost by way of Speaking in other tongues, singing in other tongues, and dancing in the spirit. We believe in "Word of Faith" by way of making positive confessions. We believe that there is a Heaven and a Hell. We believe that these are the last days in which God is moving mightily and quicker to bring his word to past. We believe that in these last days God has poured out his spirit on all flesh to preach, teach, and spread his gospel by the gift in which he has given them. We believe in the word of God in its entirety and that there is power in the application of God's word in the life of every believer who lives it. We believe in the gift of repentance and the remission of sins. We also believe in agape love and model our beliefs after the church of Philadelphia (Rev. 3:7-13).
