My Pastoral Installation was on Sunday May 1st, 2016 @ 7:00 p.m. I was officially installed as the Youth Pastor for the #TeamIChoose Youth Ministry at The Gathering at Zoe’. The service was incredible. I’ve never been recognized or received anything that is this worthy! I had a blast with everyone that was able to make it and I really admire all of the people that reached via social media to show their support. I didn't think that many people were going to attend the service that night. I was overjoyed after hearing the kind words spoken by my mother, Mrs. Bowers, Pastor Allie, and Senior Pastor B! Most of all, I was glad that God has brought me this far. I never would’ve imagined me becoming a Youth Pastor. I plan to have some great events for the #TeamIChoose youth group and I can’t wait to get started! My message for my Installation service was called “Installation” where I shared what God wants to install and update in all of our lives.

My experience at The Gathering at Zoe’ has changed my life forever. I have now been officially ordained and became the Youth Pastor for the ministry of #TeamIChoose. On top of that I am also the Pastoral Assistant for the Senior Pastor. When I first started to attend the church it was known as “Zoe’ Family Center Church”. I was invited by my now best friend, big brother, and spiritual father Pastor J. He asked me one day if I wanted to attend his church because, I believe I asked if he was a Pastor or not (I did not know at the time). The I learned that the church was actually his own church which made him the Senior Pastor. Before I started attending the church he was helping me through a life situation and began to teach me different ideas that I didn’t know before. It was as if he was in my situation the whole time before I even really knew him. He then invited me to his church one day and I said I would attend a service. He texted me the day of to see if I was going to attend the service and I told him I was going to be there. I came here not knowing what to expect. I made it before they started the praise and worship part of the service which was a good thing! I saw Pastor J and sat down with him until they started the service. While I was waiting Pastor J and I were talking which is when I met Pastor Allie.
We started praise and worship. I didn’t sing at first because, I was concerned about what people would think. Pastor J then came over to help motivate me to at least clap my hands. Pastor Allie began to speak in other tongues which startled me because I didn’t know what that was in fact I never heard it before. So then I continued to clap my hands to the beat of the music until it was finished. Then when praise and worship was over they moved into the next part of the service which was opening prayer and then the message of the day. When he was teaching “The Word” it felt as if he was talking but, it was in a good way. He broke it down so easy for me to understand what he was teaching. Once he finished the message I was inspired to continue because, I had already changed the way I talked and the music that I listened to. After that service I did continue to come but, at some points I was flaky to where I came one day then missed one then came another. Once I got the concept that Pastor J taught which was to be consistent when coming to church. He said that it is not good for the Spirit-man when days are missed. So then I became consistent and continued to come to church more and more. As I continued to come to church I learned more about who God was, the God assignment that is upon my life, what God has done in my life, why Satan tries so hard to stop me, and later I received the Holy Ghost who now leads and guides me in every area of my life. Now my faith is increased and so is my spirituality. I am now closer to the Father through Jesus. The Gathering at Zoe’ has become my church home and the first church that I actually could relate to and continue to grow change in Him (Jesus)! I can honestly say that my greatest accomplishments came from God as he continues to build me and grow me through his Spirit to while I lead his people closer to Him. |
